The Values Bridge Protocol is a cross-blockchain bridge that moves assets and data between otherwise separate networks, using smart contracts and cross-chain messaging.
01Overview
The bridge's core objective is seamless interoperability between disparate blockchain networks — permitting assets and information to move across systems that would otherwise stay isolated. Smart contracts and cross-chain messaging protocols enable communication and information exchange across different blockchains.
02Architecture
The bridge architecture comprises three parts:
- Smart contracts — the on-chain endpoints on each network.
- Cross-chain messaging protocols — the transport that relays intent and state between chains.
- Network translation and mapping mechanisms — the layer that reconciles assets and addresses across networks.
03Interoperability
Together these let blockchains communicate with one another, facilitating the seamless transfer of both digital assets and data between previously isolated networks.
