The village reading room: three generations, a shiba, a cat, a tanuki and two robots among the bookshelves, poring over books and lit-up diagrams together.

How the index works, how decisions are made, and what the risks are — in plain language, with every term defined where it first appears.

Governance

Values DAO

Values DAO is the community that owns and governs the Values Index. It has no head office and no single owner: decisions are made by members, voting in the open, under rules written in smart contracts.

Members

Anyone who holds $VALUES holds the basket. Members who stake their tokens — receiving sVALUES, the staked form of $VALUES — can take part in governance: proposing, discussing and voting.

The treasury

The DAO's shared funds are held in an on-chain treasury. How the treasury is used is decided by governance vote, and every movement is publicly verifiable. There is no discretionary spending.

Verify, don't trust

You don't have to take any of this on faith. Holdings, rebalances, votes and treasury movements are all on-chain records. If a claim on this site can't be verified there, treat it as our mistake and tell us.
