Methodology
The Values Index follows written rules: what qualifies for the basket, how weights are set, and when rebalancing happens. This page describes those rules in plain language.
Selection
The basket holds a curated set of leading on-chain assets. Curation criteria — liquidity, maturity, on-chain availability — are proposed and approved through governance, so the entry rules are public before any asset enters.
Weighting
Assets are weighted by market capitalization: larger assets carry proportionally more weight. Cap-weighting keeps the basket representative of the market rather than of anyone's opinion.
Rebalancing
Weights are brought back in line on a fixed quarterly schedule. Rebalances execute under DAO governance and are recorded on-chain, where anyone can verify what changed and when.
What the methodology is not
The methodology describes how the basket is built — not how it will perform. Weights are not returns, and no schedule protects against market falls. Digital assets are volatile and you can lose money.
